Mausoleums
Benefits of a Mausoleum
- Provides options to people who want above ground entombment.
- Preserves space in our cemetery (Four to one ratio).
- Enhances the beauty of our cemetery since a mausoleum makes a very impressive memorial. A more beautiful memorial can be built because of the shared cost concept of many burials within one mausoleum.
- Requires less maintenance than ground burials.
- Allows for easy year-round access.
- Provides a chapel for services or individual prayer.
- Takes away the necessity of a burial lot, digging a grave, purchasing a vault and purchasing a memorial stone.
- Reduces interment cost compared to a ground burial. Mausoleum crypts or niches are generally less expensive than ground burials.
Community Mausoleum
Our Community Mausoleum will include an approximate 920 square foot chapel and 112 niches for cremains as well as 84 bronze framed niches with glass niche fronts on the inside the chapel.
Frequently Asked Questions: Mausoleums
Q. What is a mausoleum?
A. It is an above ground burial area. It is a separate building built
entirely of concrete and covered with granite so it is maintenance
free. Mausoleum construction dates back to the days of the
Pyramids of Egypt. They are more common in larger cities
especially where space is a problem. Space is not currently a
primary concern, but it may be in the years ahead.
Q. What is a mausoleum crypt or niche?
A. A tandem crypt is built to receive two caskets: normally for a
husband and wife. A single crypt is built to receive one casket. A
niche is built to receive an urn for persons who choose cremation.
Q. What is the cost of a mausoleum crypt or niche?
A. The cost varies depending on type and location of the crypt or
niche. The cost includes everything required for entombment
including the opening and closing fees. The cost includes a basic
nameplate.
Q. What if a person is interested in the purchase of a mausoleum crypt
or niche, but has already purchased a lot in the cemetery?
A. A person will receive credit for the amount paid for the burial lot
upon the purchase of a mausoleum crypt or niche.
Q. If a person wishes to purchase a mausoleum crypt or niche, would
they be required to pay the total cost immediately?
A. No. A person will have the choice of paying immediately (with a
5% discount for cash or 30% down), or making payments for up
to three years interest free.
